Job Description

We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong Manual and Automation Testing skills to ensure quality across web, API and backend layers.

The role involves end-to-end testing of banking and financial applications including loan origination, payments, transaction processing and core banking systems.

Important: This role follows a manual-first and risk-based automation approach to maximize regression coverage and ensure quality across critical financial workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain test strategies, test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, system, integration, regression, smoke, sanity and UAT testing.
• Perform end-to-end testing of banking and financial applications.
• Test loan application, approval, disbursement and repayment workflows.
• Validate payment processing, refunds, settlements and merchant integrations.
• Develop automation scripts using Playwright or Selenium.
• Perform REST API testing using Postman.
• Validate API authentication, request and response payloads.
• Develop reusable API validation scripts and Postman collections.
• Validate backend data integrity using SQL queries.
• Test financial calculations, ledger entries and reconciliation records.
• Perform performance, load and stress testing using Apache JMeter.
• Support security-aware testing for authentication and authorization.
• Log and manage defects using JIRA and Zephyr.
• Prepare test reports, quality metrics and coverage dashboards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with development teams.
• Use AI-assisted tools for test case generation and automation scripting.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–10 years of QA experience in Manual and Automation Testing.
• Experience testing web and API applications.
• Knowledge of banking, financial services, payments or fintech applications.
• Strong experience in test planning and test case design.
• Working knowledge of Playwright and/or Selenium.
• Experience using Python or JavaScript for automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Postman for API testing.
• Good SQL knowledge using MySQL and/or MS SQL Server.
• Experience with JIRA and Zephyr.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of Apache JMeter is an advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
